MYPOST 2: The important lesson I learned recently

Life is a journey. In the crossroad of life, we feel struggle to decide the life path that we want to approach and don’t want to approach. Due to pressure from society, we have to select another option that we may not like in order to fit ourselves to the society. For example, you have a passion in writing, but you have to give it up because of criticism from friends, discouragement from parents and pressure from society and they provoke you follow their expectation that you not prefer at all. You have a passion in teaching and you can be a good teacher but people judge you will not be selected due to better candidates compete for the application, you should go to work for a company due to stable salary. Therefore, it brings an important lesson to me recently which is as follow:

Don’t let the people proves what you should do,

You have to prove to the people, what you can do.

In this competitive world, certain of the people always judge you on what you can do and can’t do. They always preferred to use past experiences to prove that your idea is not working. You can deliver speech in front of the audiences but they said you can’t because you cannot create resonance among the audiences. In fact, you can do it if you wish to do it. As the quote goes by James Allen: of all of the beautiful truths pertaining to the soul which have restored and brought to light in this age, none is more gladdening or fruitful of divine promise and confidence than this, that you are master of your thought, the molder of your character, and the maker and shaper of condition, environment, and destiny.

Long story short, I have a friend who is weak at academic performance. Friends also judge him cannot complete study due to poor result  He told me that life is difficult because his result is poor and no company are looking for him in the future if there is no improvement in academic performance. As friend, I advised him that failure is the highway to success, failure can bring valuable lessons for you to become wise and mature. It lets you find another path to success and lead you to a better life. We should face the failure instead of defining the failure. While my friend heard the advice, he starts to study hard to improve his academic performance to solve his problem. Now, he is graduated from university and found his ideal job in this own career.

Therefore, from my friend's experience, it proves that you are the key person to lead thyself from mediocrity to extraordinary. To make it persuasive, I would like to share an experience about myself to prove the others’ fact is wrong. When I was in upper school, I got an offer letter to enter college to pursue my studies. Without any option, I have to leave school to pursue my studies. When my school colleagues heard the news, they seek to ask advice from the teacher whether the course offered to me good or not. Frankly, the teacher told the colleagues there is no problem for the course but the root problem is the student himself. It indicates that I cannot complete the study because of my poor ability and capability. Instead of disappointing, during college life, I learn from zero, start to learn calculation, sharpen my language and presenting skills, and explore new knowledge which is helpful to me. Finally, I earn a gold medal in my academic performance during the graduation ceremony. Although it is a small achievement but it obviously proves that negative judgment from people will not affect your way to success if you work hard to make it happened.

In conclusion, most of us like to take people's advice as a consideration in order to avoid face failure and disadvantages. Owing to this reason, our goals will be limited by us because of staying people's perception. We can become a great speaker, teacher, leader, writer, or others but when people say cannot to us, certain of us prefer to stay mediocrity. Our vision is being hidden by us. The fact is, we cannot fulfill every expectation set by people but we have the responsibility to lead thyself to success. Therefore, we should prove to the people, we can change something by putting 100 % effort into the works so that we can become stronger and better than before. Learn to understand yourself, you will discover that, you can lead yourself from mediocrity to extraordinary.
