Who is Anne Frank?

Anne Frank is a diarist that born in Frankfurt, Germany. Because of the German Occupation of the Netherlands in World War II, Anne Frank and her family need to hide in the Secret Annex from 1942 to 1944. During her hiding life, she was writing her diary regularly to express her feeling, thoughts, anticipation, relationship, belief, and ambition in life. Unfortunately, Anne Frank and her family had been arrested by German Uniformed Police as hard labor and Anne Frank died in March 1945 due to shock-filled starvation. Because of her inspiration in life and writing, her diary published as books widely and made into films.

Book Review:

The diary of a young girl by Anne Frank is a book that describes the thinking of Anne Frank in a relationship, family, ambition, inspiration, daily life, and difficulty. She writes her diary in the form of letter regularly to Kitty. In her diary, one of the meaningful writing is her birthday poem from her father:

Though youngest here, you are no longer small,
But life is very hard, since one and all,
Aspire to be your teacher, thus and thus:
"We have experience, take a tip from us,"
"We know because we did it long ago."
At least that's been the rule since life began!
Our personal faults are much too small to scan
This makes it easier to criticize
The faults of others, which seem double size,
Please bear with us, your parents, for we try
To judge you fairly and with sympathy.
Correction sometimes take against your will,
Though it's like swallowing a bitter pill,
Which must be done if we're to keep the peace,
While time goes by till all this suffering cease.
You read and study nearly all the day,
Who might have lived in such a different way?
You're never bored and bring us all fresh air.
You only moan is this: "What can I wear?
I have no knickers, all my clothes are small,
My vest might be a loincloth, that is all!
To put on shoes would mean to cut off toes,
Oh dear, I'm worried by so many woes!

Quotes from Anne Frank are as follow:
  1. Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person's character lies in their own hands.
  2. I can shake off everything if I write, my sorrow disappear, my courage is reborn.

My thoughts:

The diary of a young girl has inspired me about passion in writing and reading. Meanwhile, I like her personal thought in life because she shows her maturity level in her life experiences although she was only 15 years old. In life, we are facing a lot of problems that will cause us feel upset, disappointed, and unfair. Every difficulty in life only refined us to become another better person, if Anne Frank desire to become diarist even though in the difficulty, we should take her as an example to keep moving to achieve our life goal.

Recommendation:

I think this book is suitable for everyone interested in historical nonfiction books, autobiography, and literature. Lastly, I strongly encourage everyone to read this book because Anne Frank is a good diarist that deserved to everyone to take her as an example in life.
