MY POST 8: If you could change anything about the past, what would it be & why?

Life is full of unknown and uncertainty things that will happen to us. In our life, certain of us will feel regret that hurt someone, take a wrong decision, miss an opportunity, forgive someone and express feeling to someone in the past. If taking the right action to face the problem, maybe today the matter will become different and better. Although the past is the past, when we encounter certain moments or scenarios, we will remember back the decision that we made and hope if we can back to the past, we can change it and make it become better today. Therefore, if I have the ability to change anything about the past, I won’t change anything about the past due to several reasons.

Firstly, things happen to you can refine you become wise and better. This is because if we take the wrong action to solve the problem in the past, it will become a lesson for us to take wise action in the present and future. I have taken wrong decisions in the past no matter in my career, academic, relationship, or others that make me feel guilty and regret. I ever hope that back to the past and change it so that today will become better. Nevertheless, I understand the point that there is no perfect in this world. Therefore, instead of staying in the past, I should take all the wrong decisions that I made as a lesson and learn to not repeat the same mistakes again. Today is the gift, we should take the time today to change and build up better future, feel grateful for the new people that we meet today, put in faith in our works, learn to explore new things which are helpful for us and learn to manage the time to do the right things today without any anxiety, regret, worry, and complain.

MYPOST 7: What is the movie that you watched currently? What is the takeaway lessons?

Currently, I have watched a movie about “Front of the class.” Front of the class is a 2008 film which is directed by Peter Werner. This movie is based on a true story. Brad Cohen, who has Tourette Syndrome (TS) since he was young. When he was young, due to the people around lack of awareness about this syndrome, he always gets scolded by his teachers and father due to his sudden weird sound and movement. Meanwhile, he cannot control it because it is a kind of tics disorder. One day, he is sent to the principal office due to his teacher complains his class disruptive. The principal does not scold him and invites him to attend a school concert. Before the end of the concert, the principal invites him to stage and let him explain about the reasons for doing the disruptive. After Brad’s explanation about his TS, the whole school understands that it is a syndrome and his difficulty. From that day, Brad wishes to become a teacher in order to educate people aware of this syndrome and don’t give up about reaching success.

In order to pursue his dream as a teacher, he has applied for job as an elementary teacher at different areas. Unfortunately, he has been rejected 24 times from different schools due to his syndrome. He almost lost hope and giving up due to many times rejection. In order to protect his son, his father advises him to go to his own construction site as a worker. Nevertheless, Brad never giving up and start to look for an elementary teacher job from different schools. Finally, due to his perseverance, Brad has got a job as an elementary teacher. Although Brad has become a teacher at elementary school, he faces criticism from students and parents due to his TS. Nevertheless, Brad still has a passion for teaching. Eventually, Brad earns a Teacher of the year award at Georgia. Currently, Brad Cohen is an American motivational speaker, teacher, writer, and school administrator.

MYPOST 6: What is your dream job?

A dream job can be said that the works that people have interests and passion to do even it will face many uncertainties, difficulties, obstacles, and failures.  To me, a dream job is a job that makes you feel happy, positive, anticipate about the future, gains valuable experiences, shares lessons to young generations and triggers you willing to wake up early to do it in order to make your dream become reality. If I have the precious opportunity to do my dream job, I wish to do a film director. This is because I love to do the filming and actualize my ideas and perceptions about something into a film in order to deliver meaningful lessons or reflect another side of society to the people.

Actually, there are only one reason I love to become a film director. Firstly, it can express my feeling, message, perception, or values about something into a film to audience. A film has a powerful impact on people to review themselves if the film is meaningful and informative. For example, in my life, I saw many people feel anxiety about working, lack of time to stick with their parents, loss of a job, betrayed by friends, and cannot pursue their dreams due to the current situation, all of these can be sorted into a film for people today as a message about life looks like weather, it will become a rainy day, windy day, or turns to the sunny day, you have to put the right attitude to face it and find the right way to express your sad and disappointment.  When you becoming old, you will realize that every setbacks or problem are temporary. If all of these make it into a film, it can let people self-review themselves to have the right mindset to face all of these problems.

MYPOST 5: If you could invite 3 people to dinner, who would you invite? And Why? What would you want to talk about?

In our life, I believe that most of you have admired, respected, loved, or saluted persons that bring inspiration or motivation for you to keep moving forward and breakthrough obstacles in order to succeed in life. We wish to meet and talk with them in order to appreciate their success side. To me, if I can invite 3 people to dinner, I will invite Robin Sharma, Bi Rain, and Stephen Chow. This is because of their contribution to their own career has made a big inspiration for everyone to pursue their own dream.

Robin Sharma is a motivation speaker and writer from Canada. One of his book series about From the Monk who sold his Ferrari has inspired many people around the world to pursue their own dream by leading thyself toward extraordinary. The reason that I wish to dinner with him is because I want to ask about the contradiction between money and dream. I realized that certain people working for money rather than their own dream. The reason behind is they have faced failure many times. Without any option, they have to give up their own dream to work for money to live. For example, the person love to write, but none of the company want him, he lacks of money and sacrifice most of his time but he still not success at all in the end.  When nearly 30 years, without any option, he has to go to work to earn money for living. Therefore, I want to know how Robin will response to this question for younger generation to face these challenges and risks and how to make a wise turning point to them for better living.

MYPOST 4: What things you learned from your family?

Family can be said that is our life long companion and appearing in every moment of our life. Family cannot be replaced by money, social status, and jewelry. No matter where you are, family always supports and protects you from the world. Father working hard for family, mother taking care of our living, brother and sister stay together as a happy family. Without the love and caring from family, I cannot grow up as a healthy person. To me, the important lessons that I learned from my family are as follow:

Be a humble person
One of the values that I learned from my family is to be a humble person. This is because people will show courtesy and respect to you in return. To them, there is no high and low-status division among people and be humble is essential so that it can leave a good impression on people as compared to the person who is arrogant and egocentric. Meanwhile, if you seek to learn something from others, you should humble and sincere while the person teaching you rather than proving yourself is smart. In short, be humble can connect to people, learn new things, and make people feel valued and respected in life.
